Try Riva on Navy Pier or Joe's Stone Crab (NOT Joe's Crab Shack). You will also find a couple gems in Greektown-- Greek Islands and Santorini. Roy's on State Street is incredible, too.
If you like sushi, the absolute best place in Chicago for fresh sushi is Katsu on the far north side, on Peterson between Western and California Avenues.
