Soo my sis & I are planning to move to chicago and we have been there for the past two weekends and have yet to find a good restaurant these are all the places that had great reviews but very average or horrible food

BK: we tried Orange, original pancake house

Lunch/dinner: we tried Girandados (that famous pizza place),
rockit bar and grill (disgusting),
silver cloud (average but one of the best, which is not saying alot)
chicago best philly cheesesteak

Could someone please tell me where the good restaurants are located. Don't care what type of food it is

In Chicago you have such a huge vcariety of foods and price types. It looks like you're looking for economical.

Mr. Beef is a hole in the wall but the Italian Beef sandwiches are legendary because they're awesome. And the have the rare Chicago amenity of free parking. They're on Orleans south around Ohio.

I agree and can't understand why people lke Giordano's. So many better choices. The original pizza is Uno, and Due down the street, pretty good. Lou Malnati's is better. Gino's East and Connie's are better yet.

Polish food - go to Czerwone Jabuszko (Red Apple) on Milwaukee just south of Belmont, best buffet in the city. Dinner and a drink is about $12 and it's one of the best buys in the city. I think you'll find it worth the trip. Decor is okay, not exciting, though the TV in the bar will be on Polish TV and you'll hear a lot of Polish spoken.

Other great buys are the bakeries in Chinatown (red like to Cermak) and some of the pastries are a meal in themselves. And the restaurants are reasonable too.

For history go to Berghoff's. They are pricier than the other places and I've been warned they've reduced quality (instant potatoes) but German food is good - have to have a good Wienerschnitzel once in a while. It's worth it for just the interiors, and one of the oldest restaurants in the city. Located on Adams near State.

More history go to Little Italy along Taylor west of UIC. Honestly I've not been to any restaurants there yet but it looks like a really cool area.

Hope those help.

Good is a subjective term. What's "good" to one person may not be to another. I could suggest a restaurant where they serve blowfish but you may not like it. And the places you list are OK but not really "restaurants" (ok, silver cloud is). Most of they are realy diners, not restaurants. And a philly cheesesteak? In Chicago? Why would you go for a cheesesteak in Chicago?

Ok, look, I'll give it a shot:

Kuma's Corner: GREAT burgers, but a LOOOOONG wait to get in and the heavy metal music they blast is not for everyone. Is the burger worth it? To some people, yeah. If you do go, get there by 11:30 a.m. The place opens at noon and the line gets long quickly.

Tiffin: An Indian restaurant on Devon. Great food. Again, Indian food is not for everyone.

Adobo Grill in Old Town: An upscale Mexican restaurant. A bit pricey but the mole sauces are great.

Topolabampo/Frontera Grill: Rick Bayliss's places. More Mexican food but great again. He's also just opened Xoco right next to these places.

Signature Room, John Hancock building: Mostly for the view, but the food is great too.

Cibo Matto: One of the best new Italian restaurants around.

Mon Ami Gabi: A great French bistro in Lincoln Park/Lakeview

These are RESTAURANTS, not diners, so expect to pay a little more and in some cases a LOT more.

Lou Malnattis has way better pizza than Giordanos, inmy opinion anyways.

Where in Chicago are you?

I agree Mr. Beef has the best beef I've ever had. And Superdawg hands down for...everything lol.

If your on the Northwest Side Mr. Zees and Wilburs(Irving and Narragansettm//Montrose and Narragansett)

Galestreet has good ribs, thats in Jefferson Park.

New Star for Chinese(sit down) North ave. and Harlem-ish.

Chicago is crammed with great eating places, yet you are going to could desire to flow extra upscale. The places you have visited do no longer pretend to furnish spectacular nutrients. i admire Vinci, Sapori, and Coco Pazzo for Italian nutrients. (We tried the nice and cozy new eating place, Cibo Matto, presently, yet on the same time as the nutrients is great, the situation is overcrowded and understaffed.) The Spiaggia Cafe is a affordable option to the biggest Spiaggia eating place. I enjoyed Gaylord for Indian nutrients, and there's a robust Thai eating place -- the Snail -- in my community of Hyde Park. We even have Medici, regularly an much less severe priced pizza and pasta eating place, although i'm no longer a pizza gourmet, Piccolo Mondo (Italian), l. a. Petite Folie (upscale French), and diverse ethnic eating spots on fifty fifth highway. My husband, a Philly interior sight, claims that that is impossible to locate a solid cheesesteak right here. He did love the Frontera Grill for Mexican nutrients.
