How do I get from Chicago to Eastern Illinois U?

I'm flying in from Canada to E. Illinois U in Charleston. Should I fly into Chicago and then take a bus? How does one even get to the university?

st. louis is actually closer to charleston than chicago, indianapolis may be too. 57 comes close if you are driving, 55 does not.

Interstate 55 goes very close to the school.
