You don't know what a province is because we don't have them in the United States. Provinces are used in some other countries, like Canada, and are similar to states in the US.

Well a province is an area governed by a designated administrator. It is a division of the country.
America calls them states, not provinces. You are in the state Illinois.

We don't have provinces. But if it helps, you'd be living in Cook County, which surrounds Chicago. Our STATE is Illinois.

Province?? Are you talking about its county??
It is obviously within the state of Illinois but more specifically within Cook County.
Regionally it is considered part of the Midwest.
