My family will be in Chicago next week and we plan on visiting the Sears Tower. I was wondering if there is a restaurant with a nice view at the top.

No restaurant at the top but there are a couple on lower level. The John Hancock Building's Signature Room is a first class restaurant that has a great view...better than Willis Tower. Both the restaurant and lounge will provide the view for free if you purchase food or a cocktail:

I don't know about the Sears Tower but there is this cafe type place at the top of the Hancock building

Not at sears tower. There is one at the Hancock Center called the Signature. I think the food is pretty awful but have to admit the view is great.
